Oatmeal Mix

It's "thyme" for another "Thyme-saving" mix. Oatmeal Mix. You're going to LOVE this mix! Very versatile.

Let's get started-

Oatmeal Mix

4 cups Pancake Mix
2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
2 tsp. Baking Powder
1 tsp. Salt
2 cups Brown Sugar
3 cups Butter-flavor Shortening (if you prefer to use butter- you will need to store mix in either the fridge or freezer!)

In a Large bowl, whisk together pancake mix, whole-wheat flour, baking powder & salt.

Stir in brown sugar. Mix well.

With a pastry cutter (or heavy-duty mixer), cut in shortening until evenly distributed.

Stir in oats and mix well.

Spoon into a large, airtight container (my containers are 1 gallon glass containers that we purchased from a local deli- they used to hold pickles). Label. Store in a cool, dry place. Use within 10-12 weeks. Makes about 18 cups of Oatmeal Mix.

  1. I don't have any whole wheat flour and was wondering if regular all-purpose flour would work.
